This is a newly established single-family office based in Cincinnati, Ohio, serving the financial, investment, and personal needs of an ultra-high-net-worth Principal (founder of a successful private company). The family office’s mission is to manage and protect the family’s wealth, oversee accounting and reporting, ensure tax and regulatory compliance, coordinate investments and philanthropy, and support the Principal’s personal and family initiatives. The President will lead this office, partnering closely with the Principal to set strategic direction and build a best-in-class operation that preserves and grows the family’s assets while enabling the Principal to focus on his family and philanthropic endeavors.
The Single Family Office President is the chief executive role, responsible for both strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the family office. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced wealth management executive to build and lead a comprehensive family office platform. The President will define the office’s vision and goals, ensure seamless delivery of services across all wealth management disciplines, and act as the trusted advisor to the Principal and family. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with broad expertise in investments, finance, and family office operations, capable of driving strategy while managing detailed operations to meet the needs of a substantial multigenerational family.
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the family office’s strategic vision in partnership with the Principal, including establishing the office’s mission, values, and long-term goals. Ensure priorities are set and aligned with the Principal’s objectives, and maintain high-quality service delivery to the family and related entities.
Investment Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the family’s investment portfolio (public markets, private equity, alternative investments, etc.), working with investment managers and partners. Review and refine investment policies as needed to align with the Principal’s objectives and risk tolerance, and supervise implementation of investment strategies and ongoing portfolio management.
Financial Management & Compliance: Implement robust financial controls, accounting systems, and reporting infrastructure to track all family assets and entities. Oversee cash flow management, financial reporting, and tax planning and compliance for the family and related entities, coordinating with external tax and legal advisors to optimize structures and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Risk Management & Legal Coordination: Ensure comprehensive risk management, including identifying and mitigating financial, operational, and reputational risks to the family’s assets. Recommend appropriate insurance and security measures. Oversee legal matters by reviewing and negotiating contracts (leases, agreements, etc.) and coordinating with outside counsel on trust, estate, and other legal issues.
Operational Excellence: Build and continually improve the family office’s operational infrastructure. Implement governance policies, state-of-the-art technology, and cybersecurity protocols to protect confidential information and drive efficiency. Establish metrics to measure performance and ensure continuous improvement in processes and service delivery.
Team Leadership: Determine human capital needs and recruit, develop, and mentor a high-caliber team to deliver exceptional, personalized services. Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and excellence, ensuring staff are motivated and aligned with the family’s values and long-term commitment.
Advisor Management: Manage relationships with all external advisors and service providers (investment managers, accountants, attorneys, etc.), coordinating their efforts on behalf of the Principal. Streamline communications and requests to free the Principal’s time, and act as the family’s advocate to ensure advisors’ activities align with the family’s best interests. Represent the family in a highly professional and confidential manner in all dealings with external parties.
Family Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for the Principal and family members. Maintain strong relationships across generations of the family, facilitating open communication and transparency. Provide objective advice and act as a sounding board for the Principal on key decisions, articulating complex financial and investment concepts in clear, easy-to-understand terms.
