Godfrey Mwindaare

Godfrey Mwindaare is a distinguished banking and investment professional who brings over 27 years of extensive experience across African markets to his role as Council Member of Respada Africa Circle. As Director at Gateway Partners, he leverages his deep understanding of private sector dynamics across more than 40 African countries to identify and structure transformative investment opportunities.

Throughout his career, Mwindaare has demonstrated exceptional expertise in deal origination, structuring, and execution across diverse sectors. His extensive track record includes senior leadership positions at premier institutions including the African Development Bank, where he served as Chief Investment Officer, Standard Bank Group as Director, and Barclays Capital in Investment Banking. His experience spans private equity, impact investing, fundraising, and portfolio management, making him uniquely positioned to guide strategic investments across the continent.

Mwindaare's governance experience is equally impressive, having served on the Board of the Central Bank of Ghana and currently holding board positions with Telecel Ghana Ltd and serving as an Advisory Board Member for Telecel Group Ltd. He is also an Investment Committee Member of Ghana Venture Capital Trust Fund, where he applies his expertise in evaluating high-growth opportunities. His previous board roles include InfraCo Africa (UK), Green Africa Power (UK), and the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG).

His current investment portfolio reflects his strategic vision for African growth, including positions in Agri-Commodities Services Ltd (ETG), Watu Credit Uganda Ltd, First Bank of Nigeria Ltd, Usangu Logistics Tanzania Ltd, and Telecel Global Services Ltd, among others.

Mwindaare holds an MBA in Financial Management from Hull University Business School (UK), an MSc and BSc in Mining Engineering from the University of Science and Technology (Ghana), and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers UK. He also earned a BSc in Financial Services from UMIST (Manchester, UK).
